Help us make the Meds & Food for Kids virtual gala a big success! On February 19, 2022, gather a group of friends, family, co-workers, or community members in the comfort of your home for an unforgettable evening celebrating the work of MFK.
A watch party is a gathering of your friends and family, anywhere from 4–10 people, either at your home or via Zoom. Prior to the 6:30 PM (CST) start time of our virtual gala, we invite you to gather to watch the event and introduce your loved ones to the work of MFK.
During these challenging times, some people are still understandably hesitant to have gatherings in their homes. If you do have an in-person watch party, make sure to follow all local and state COVID restrictions. You can also decide to meet online with your friends! Free online platforms like Zoom or Skype allow you to virtually host your friends before the event starts or after the program concludes. Your guests can use their smartphones, tablets, or computers to be part of your virtual watch party.
1. Register on our website to be a Gala watch party host. There will be two options for participation:
a. $100 Party Pack: We will send you everything you need to host your party, including decorations, tablescape, game cards + more!
b. Free DIY option: receive our digital watch party planning toolkit with an event agenda, invitation template, program, and hosting tips for a seamless digital experience.
2. Optional: Plan a fun dinner and a theme for the evening (e.g., Haitian rum tasting, Rara festival night, e.g...).
3. Tune into our Gala Live Stream on Saturday, February 19th, and enjoy a wonderful evening we have planned for you and your guests.
4. Invite your friends and family to watch the MFK 2022 Gala on February 19th, 2022.
If you are choosing to host a small gathering in your home, we recommend inviting four to ten friends to be your guests – think, your table guests. If you host in person, you will watch the virtual event from one Zoom portal. Social gatherings are always nice, but with these watch parties, you can take it to the next step and share your passion for MFK and why you’re encouraging your friends to be a part of the event with you. We would love for guests to participate in the event any way they can, by donating or just learning more about MFK overall.
